Dear Friends of World Edition:

It is with a heavy heart that we communicate the passing of our dear friend and colleague Udo Moll, who left us suddenly on this past January 14th.  Udo had worked with us since 2015 and his professional contributions were, and continue to be, one of the main pillars of our label.

Your contributions, dear Udo, have been especially prolific and valuable. The lasting richness of your ideas in the conceptual, design, or theoretical scope ―to name some of your multiple facets― have greatly enrichened us. To work with you has meant having a source of inspiration that allowed us to venture onto new paths in World Edition.

As a composer, improviser, great enthusiast of modular synthesizers and trumpeter, you always found inspiration on paths that went beyond the strictly musical; your sources were many and diverse, and you always knew how to combine notions from different domains ―artistic, technological― with beautiful end results. You brought vigour and perfection to our work and were a true inspiration for the artistic family of World Edition.

With all our love forever! Your team of World Edition.

we are very proud and happy to announce that two of our world-edition auteurs have been nominated for the prestigious Phonurgia Nova Award in the category “radio art” !

This week, on November 18th, World Edition will publicly present the new Book about Eduardo Polonio’s life and work and the new CD by Josep Manuel Berenguer. The event will be hosted by PHONOS at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona.

The most recent composition of Maria de Alvear, Im Kern III for brass quintet, will be premiered on 29 March in the Auditorio 400 of the Museo Reina Sofía in Madrid as part of the Series 20/21 cycle of the CNDM. It is performed by the Spanish Brass.
